ENCOURAGE YOUR SENATORS TO VOTE AGAINST PRESIDENT TRUMP’S UNQUALIFIED NOMINEES
Urge Senators Fetterman and McCormick (contact information below) to vote against Trump’s unqualified nominees to various cabinet and other positions. The one non-qualified nominee remaining is McMahon.
Suggested message:
Every president has the right to appoint members of his cabinet who support his policies. The Senate, however, has the duty to advise and consent on these nominations, and as part of this duty must ensure that nominees are qualified for those positions.
Linda McMahon, nominee as Secretary of Education, has no relevant experience in education but was involved in running Donald Trump’s election campaign. She is likely to support policies that will damage or destroy public education.
As my Senator, I expect you to represent me and vote against approval for this nominee.
Updates: Nominations for Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, Brooke Rollins, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and Tulsi Gabbard, all of which we opposed here, were approved by the Senate.
Hegseth: approved 50-50-1 (Vance’s tiebreaking vote was required. Fetterman voted No; McCormick voted Yes.
Gabbard: approved 52-48; Fetterman voted No; McCormick voted Yes.
Rollins: approved 72-28; Fetterman voted Yes; McCormick voted Yes.
Kennedy: approved 52-48; Fetterman voted No; McCormick voted Yes.
